2/17-2/20 “Civil Engineering Open House for Environmental Restoration of Tea Plantation” at Horiguchi Seicha’s own tea garden was successfully completed.

First, soil ditches and culverts were constructed in poorly drained areas of the tea fields to create wind paths, and then organic materials such as rice husk smoked charcoal and tea branches from tea processing were placed in them to improve drainage and promote the growth of microorganisms, and finished with a layer of gritstone.

We are looking forward to seeing the effects of the watering and rainfall after the frost protection in early spring. We would like to thank Yohei Kamimura of Kamimuraya for his supervision and guidance, and everyone who worked on the project.
